Compact Contemporary Chairs

Our clients required two pairs of comfortable armchairs, both light in weight and colour,  for their recent breakfast room makeover.  As both bespoke Windsor and upholstered easy chairs are now made at St. Georges Works the commission is well suited to our skilled Crafts people.

English ash was chosen for the frames as it is tough and strong with the advantage of being a light clean hardwood. The pair of Windsor elbow chairs are new designs fitted with hairpin back bows, fine proportions yet very strong.

The elegant Goldophin easy chairs are supremely comfortable yet occupy a small footprint,  with an upright back and compact neatly upholstered arms.   The fabric chosen from our extensive array of pattern books was a fine weave Jane Churchill Karla beige.   You can see further examples of this and other superb models on: www.greengate.co.uk

Lengthening Easter Entertaining

By Uncategorized

With delivery scheduled for the week before Easter, this bespoke dining table was created to complement our client’s contemporary living space, on the edge of the City of London. The design is simplicity itself, a pair of welded steel legs supporting a long centre beam uniting three cross rails, secured to the highly figured solid English elm top, 132″ x 42″ x 1 1/2″ thick.   The top boards  were carefully chosen, cut and matched from an exceptionally rare  log of stunning English elm.
