A Rare Opportunity to acquire a Winston Churchill Limited Edition Armchair, No 85 of 125 for Sale.
Stewart Linford Chairmaker created the famous Winston Churchill chair at the dawn of the new Millennium at his historic Kitchener Works.
The limited edition of just 125 chairs was fully subscribed. He styled the chair on a High Wycombe classic Windsor chair termed: The bergere bow.
Dating back to early Victorian times the chair’s generously curved back and seat deserves it’s description: ‘the most comfortable Windsor’.
Apart from it’s rarity and comfort the chair boasts a wealth of unique features including:
- Hand-crafted using solid English walnut frame and one-piece seat, finished to an ultra smooth must-touch feel using traditional oil polish.
- Secret humidor drawer crafted from Spanish cedar and oak from Blenheim Palace, complete with a trio of Romeo y Julieta, Winston Churchill cigars, humidistat, Dunhill gold plated cutter and brass hygrometer.
- A brass plate secured to the seat underside is inscribed with the climax of Churchill’s Finest hour speech, plus a piece of WWII brass shell case.
- Hand-carved lettering and top rail depicting our Greatest Briton, the white cliffs of Dover and RAF fighters over the English Channel.
Very rarely do these chairs come onto the market, we are proud to offer this superb example for sale @ £5,000 fully including delivery to UK mainland and VAT.
As part of an earlier auction sale lot the same provenance chair made £7,400.
